All Black Everything

Of all the designers who ventured into black clothing this Fashion Week, Anthony Vacarello’s outing was one that spoke of unabashed glamour. Added styling inspiration from MDA winners lends you a helping hand, should you choose this style. Step out in bold separates, adding layers to your attire for maximum impact.

Doing Denim

Reinventing the exemplary fabric, designers created jackets with broad shoulders along with flared jeans on international runways- chic attires celebrating the comeback of denim.

As Sohini Dey, Former Features Writer at Harper’s Bazaar puts it, “Denim is one of those few things that never truly fades away. This season is all about showing denim beyond your regular bottoms. Think off-shoulder blouses, roomy skirts and even fusion dresses. My pick? A floor-dusting denim jacket to ward off the chill.”

Structure, varied cuts, strong silhouettes- it’s all happening in denim this season. Dip into Ankit Kajla’s winning designs from MDA, interpreting similar elements in other fabrics.

Fashionable Fusions

Cinched waists made a bold statement at Stella McCartney, as did skirts and trousers. With beautifully combined evening wear and athleisure making an appearance, is it time to take a note out of the designer’s playbook? We think so. Pair your sheath dress with sneakers or add an embellished outerwear to your comfortable jumpsuit for a chic appeal. Still need convincing? Tushar Jha’s winning interpretations for MDA will do the trick!

Fancy Florals

For Anishesh Shriwastava, designer and stylist, winter florals à la Erdem Moralioglu are an enticing option. “I am particularly fond of florals sweeping in on tailored outfits like pantsuits and blazers. It’s a modern yet romantic update on the print!”

Think captivating clothing speckled with florals, intricately done lace and blossoms on ruffled skirts, pleated dresses, elegant blouses and of course, blazers! Need we say more?
