Endlessways To Stay Fit Even In Winter

Winters mean innumerable parties, wedding dinners and Christmas desserts - basically loads of great food! From steaming cups of hot chocolate to yummy Christmas cakes and from party snacks & beverages to 8-course New Year’s eve dinners; this is the time when you turn a blind eye to all your diet plans and indulge in some sinful hogging. But, when the mornings are cold and all you want to do is snuggle under your blankets, you don’t even hit the gym in order to shake off those calories. Before you start to panic about all these extra calories, here are some fun ways to work out during the cold months!

 

Go running – Running is a helpful and liberating form of exercise that can help you stay fit & fresh. If not in the early morning, you can go for a jog in the afternoon or early evening. Running a few laps in the local park or around your neighbourhood will warm you up and make you feel invigorated in no time! Make sure you wear warm joggers and a bomber jacket to face the chilly winds. Just plug in those earphones, turn on your favourite playlist and get, set, go!

 

Enjoy aerobics – Aerobics is a fun and exciting way of working out that will help you stay in shape, even without running to the gym! Just put on one of the innumerable aerobics videos available on YouTube and do it at home in the warm confines of your room. Put on the dri-fit tee, leggings or shorts & trainers, and you are all set to dance away the extra calories! You can even call over friends and have group aerobics sessions to make it a more fun and inspiring way of staying fit.

 

 

Play indoor sports – Join the local club and indulge in some indoor sports with local friends or fellow club members. Try your hand at active team sports such as basketball, tennis, badminton etc. and lose some calories without having to brave the chill in the air outside. Get yourself some sports gear and athleisure clothes for the game sessions. Once you start playing, you’ll see that this is one of the best ways to stay fit and healthy while having fun at the same time!

 

Take the stairs – The best way to stay fit without having to spend extra time for it is to take the stairs wherever you go. Walk up and down the stairs at the slightest chance at home and ditch the lift at office for the staircase. You might feel lethargic at first, but after a few days your body will get used to the idea and you’ll see yourself effortlessly running up the steps without having to coax yourself!

 

Indulge in yoga – Yoga is a form of exercise that never goes out of popularity, be it summer or winter. When you don’t want to step out for a jog or don’t feel like indulging in anything too active, just light up some scented candles, pull out the yoga mat and practise this ancient art for an hour or so. Stock up on some stretchable clothes like yoga pants and flexible tees for the exercise. Regular yoga sessions will keep both your body and mind refreshed throughout the day and help you keep those calories at bay!

 

So, don’t shy away from gorging on all the holiday sweets and dinner spreads, because you can exercise away the calories and stay fit & healthy in these easy ways in winter too!
