While blue jeans is a perennial closet essential, even fashionistas hesitate at the thought of a head-to-toe denim look. Not me. Being a fangirl of all things denim, I took on the head-to-toe denim #ootd challenge with Max Fashion’s chic designs for winters. Blue jeans paired with a coordinated parka make this look a new must-wear of the season. Bonus: There’s a hint of Star Wars too! So versatile is this look that you can carry it most places. Just add on some attitude and a hint of eye make-up if liked, and you’re done.

Trends may come and go, but some things never go out of style. Case in point: Denim-On-Denim. The indigo-hued fabric that started as the preferred garb for workmen has over the decades become a go-to choice for everyone. Like the wise say, “denim is a way of life”. Worn by so many celebrities and bloggers; and big on the street style front as well, you can be sure that the denim trend is here to stay.

 

The basic rule of thumb when wearing denim on denim is making sure that the washes and colours are completely different from each other. This means pairing a light washed, blue denim jacket or shirt with dark blue, black or grey jeans or vice versa. 

 

 

I spotted this gorgeous pair of ombré jeans from the Max Fashion store, and absolutely fell in love with it. It is important to stock up your basics, and it’s even more important to have different types of basics handy to help you style your everyday outfit, making it look chic and well put together. I paired my new favourite jeans with a Star Wars knit top in grey, and ankle-high boots to balance out the busy bottoms. Since winter is here and I am all about layers, I went all out with a roomy hooded denim parka to complete this fab all-over denim look. The varying shades of blue broke any sense of monotony in the relaxed ensemble, and definitely set a tone for winter!
