There’s less than a month to go for the FIFA World Cup 2018 to kick off and the excitement in the air is palpable. Many of us passionately follow club level football all through the year and have favourite teams such as FC Barcelona or Arsenal but India’s love for football truly comes out during the World Cup that happens every four years. Everyone - from shopkeepers and bar-owners to school-going children and professionals - are gearing up to welcome the championship tournament with enthusiasm and cheer.

Add to this festivity in the air by joining in – not just by watching but actually getting involved with the spirit of things. A great way to show your football love is to wear ‘football gear’. Don’t know how? It’s pretty simple really. Here are a few tips:

Find a team t-shirt: Portugal or Brazil or France? Which team do you support – or shall we say ‘belong to’? Wear your team on your sleeves… quite literally! Get a team jersey for yourself and declare ‘your country’ from the moment you step into a friend’s house to watch the match together or gear up for the party in your own.

Wear the colours: Can’t find a team jersey? No problem – wear the colours! Yellow and green for Brazil, blue and white for Argentina… you know the rules. Any football lover will immediately identify the colours; you don’t even need to say who you’re supporting.

Wear vertical stripes: Vertical stripes speak football more than any pattern so if you want to get a top that works even after the football fever is over, then this is your safest bet!
