Know Your Look

Could be Indian or Western. Or maybe you're lucky and can work both styles. Cuts, patterns, colours… choose the ones that suit you best. (Get your best, most honest, friend to help.) Geometrics may flatter your well-sorted personality – try kurtas or blouses flaunting circular, square or triangular motifs or a happy mix of all! When you want to keep it simple, solid blacks and no-fuss whites can work the deal.

Get Into Details

If Western is your style, opt for well-fitted blouses in attractive patterns with tapered slacks or fitted trousers. Or beat the heat with a smart dress, glammed up with your favourite accessories. Neutrals such as charcoal greys or pastels, with some pops of colour too, work beautifully. If you want to take the ethnic route, try pretty patterns and motifs. Elegant kurtis mixed and matched with palazzos, churidars or culottes are a good way. And while you don't want to go OTT, don't be restricted to safe pastels.

Make Up-Musts

Less is more at the workplace. Go for a light foundation or concealer, compact and a touch of rouge (or drop the blusher). A thin stroke of the liner and a hint of mascara is enough to perk up the eyes. Don't forget to define eyebrows – critical to give your face definition. Go nude, neutral pink or beige on the lips. Braid your hair or tie it in a high ponytail... Choose your style according to your ensemble. When at a loss, just leave it open (but make sure it's well-groomed, with no strays).

Your accessories are meant to complement your outfit, not outshine it. Small geometric danglers for the ears, delicate necklaces, simple watches and a bangle or two work perfectly. A scarf can make a stylish addition. Complete the look with heels or flats in neutral shades.
